Military Science 1 - Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in M S 202LClass focuses on the properties and characteristics of Earth's landmass and how to apply various methods to perform land navigation. These methods include; using topographical maps, compasses, aerial photographs, military maps, symbols and all practical application.

These navigation techniques are used in the classroom along with patrol techniques and group movement exercises. Students will use verbal and non-verbal communication, communication techniques, and information technologies during this class. Students are also assigned to read a professional book from the Army reading list and complete a written review of the book in Army writing style.
